나의 일곱 살 적 어머니는

하얀 목련꽃이셨다

눈부신 봄 한 낮 적막하게

빈 집을 지키는

나의 열네 살 적 어머니는

연분홍 봉선화 꽃이셨다

저무는 여름 하오 울 밑에서

눈물을 적시는

나의 스물한 살 적 어머니는

노오란 국화꽃이셨다

어두운 가을 저녁 홀로

등불을 켜드는

그녀의 육신을 묻고 돌아선

나의 스물아홉 살

 

어머니는 이제 별이고 바람이셨다

내 이마에 잔잔히 흐르는

흰 구름이셨다
